  This is a rare example of a planked over roof.  In general this doesn't work very well as the planks slide off and a work-around like notching becomes too complicated.  It’s better to bend a piece of cardboard and use it like a hat to simulate roofs - or simply let the shape of the joists say "roof."  But you can see here that occasionally it can be made to work.  The grocery store is pretty simple and could be completed by a 6 year old with some help.  Capping the tower is the hardest part.
