The TOD Kits are suitably large for children
about 4. At this age, children begin to
make things, though the idea may be a bit mysterious. They may
also spend a lot of time aligning the block footprints and struggling
with perfect towers. A milestone is making a box - that is, a structure
with four sides and a top - also learning to balance one piece on another.
By this age, children may be able to identify two different triangles by
that name - but they may not be able to tell you why this is so. It is
satisfying to spend time with your children, showing them what to do with
the blocks, and enjoying their progress in coordination.
